When choosing to uninstall this software you MUST use the
button on the Help TAB.
Windows 7 Codecs version 2.0 HIGHLIGHTS:
- upgrades will be disabled and forced uninstall is implemented
- a clean installation will be required to update the installation
A highlight of this release is a fix for the black levels in Media Center.
To enable the fix, start the settings application with administrative rights
and proceed to select the proper hardware output setting in the lower left
of the Config TAB.
There is also a new checkbox on the Config TAB which may or may not work for
you.
Enable Media Center Sharpen. (MC Sharpen) If you're keen for quality output, check it
out.
Another very prominent feature of the 2.x series is controlled hacking (see the SWAP TAB). I have done the research, tested every possible registry modification and have to the best of my ability tried to avoid hacking the Windows 7 operating system but there are a few things that just are not possible unless you perform a hack. The hacks that I have empowered the user with are completely reversible and a user can enable or disable the hack using a single click.
Users are encouraged to utilize the Save/Restore settings feature of
the MISC TAB
when performing installation update to quickly restore their previously used
settings.
