AC3 Filter Change?
So I've used Shark codecs for a while playing MKV files. reinstalled the other day and since then I haven't been able to play MKV's on my media center extender. I get the error "The file type is not recognized and cannot be played. Either the correct coded is not installed or the file is corrupt".
So playing with it I can get them to buffer and not play uninstalling shark and installing another AC3 Filter. So now I would say it's a codec thing, but I guess the question is, in the last 4 months (this is when I last installed) have there been any major changes in the AC3 filter or the Codecs? I'm pretty sure if I can narrow down what changed on the filters in the UI then I can use the Shark Pack and get these going again ... Also I use x64 components as well. |

RE: AC3 Filter Change?
Thanks for posting.
Another user, mbilalp, has been trying to convince me there is something wrong in newer versions of my codecs when it comes to extender playback in THIS THREAD. Your post would seem to corroberate this users findings. I will investigate further and possible revert AC3Filter to an older version, or maybe use some trickery to use an older version only when enabling the DivX MF splitter on the MKV TAB. |
