ActiveX for WMP and Quicktime?
In solving an issue I raised in another thread:
http://shark007.net/forum/newreply.php?t...&pid=28806 I wound up still not having a satisfactory final outcome. I was trying to get WLPG to work so that I could use it as a screensaver or slideshow program for both photos and videos. Despite getting it to play MOV 1080p videos at 30 fps without jitter, it somehow can't run them in "slideshow mode". That made me default to the other program I know of that lets you do slideshows/screensavers with photos AND videos - gphotoshow (http://www.gphotoshow.com/). The problem with that program, however, is that it uses ActiveX for both Windows Media Player and Quicktime. I have no clue how to enable FFDShow DXVA for this scenario. They suggest using VLC player, but I've not been able to get jitter-free play on VLC, so that's a no-go. Here's the excerpt from their site (http://www.gphotoshow.com/gpspro_faq.htm): By default gPhotoShow plays avi,wmv and mpg files by using Windows Media Player ActiveX. Mov files with Apple QuickTime ActiveX. On some systems for unknown reasons these components don't work correctly with third party programs. A way to work around the problem is to install the free media player VLC (VideoLan). gPhotoShow has a tight integration with this player and it should work better than Media Player and QuickTime. Googling ActiveX and DXVA hasn't been helpful. |
