Background audio but not dialog?

Going crazy with this... Win 7 64bit... UAC set to default, both settings app set to default (now, I've tried about a billion settings)

I get the music in the background, I get the rumble of thunder, the horses going clip clop... But the lips move, but nothing comes out for the dialog...

Any ideas?
