Basic question on h264 tab

Hi - I've got a basic question on the h264 tab that I'm a little confused on:

On the right under "H264 codec in Direct Show Players" - let's say I choose "Use LAV codec."

Do the other "Use FFDshow's codec" and "Use MPC-HC DXVA codec" options on the left have any meaning at that point?

My initial thought was that if I choose one of the FFD show options on the right, then the Use FFDshow's codec section on the left would apply; the same goes with the MPC-HC.

Do I understand those correctly? Or do the options on the left actually do something, regardless of what I choose on the right?

I agree, the leftside settings are confusing (and outdated).
I will revise the TAB.
