Cuttin' a long story short, this is what I came upon. Recently, i was offered a new digital photo camera, because the previous one had it's last moments, even though it went for a complete repair just not that long ago. Ok, so, Like all digital cameras, it has the option of make small videos in MJPEG or MPEG-4/AVC. The old one and the new one film in MJPEG. The only good thing is my new camera shoots in HD resolution. But, being the lazy that i am, i thought, " Well, it's just a matter of puling the video to the drive, watch, edit and that's it. " Boy, was i wrong ... The soon i went to view the video in WMP, it crashed at least 3 times. I thought it was the codec that was old and so, went here, updated the codecs ... Still the same ... My only 2 solutions are 1- Converting to Avi but with a diferent codec or view the uncompressed video in another media player. I thought that MPC-HC would do the job. Went to do that, crash left and right ... So I installed VLC, and it worked. My problem is this, why i cant watch in WMP, If i have the codec. Or at least i think so. I don't want to have 4 or 5 different media players for just to one or two codecs that won't work elsewhere. How can i get to view the video uncompreesed in WMP correctly ? Or i have to really compress the video to another codec ? I wil take any suggestion you might have. Thanks ... |

RE: Best Solution for MJPEG Playback
No need ... I just found the problem, it was not the codec is the card reader ...
When I put the video on to a hard drive, there's no crashing ... As soon as i read it from the SD Card, Crash again ... Sorry to bother you .. It's the Card reader that doesn't doesn't have speed enough to decode properly the video ... If you haven't told me to send you a sample of my video, i would never guessed ... So thanks, you're been helpful ... Once more, Sorry to bother you, Sometimes I don't test all the possibilties to find the solution ... I would never guessed ... Thanks Shark, and keep up the excellent job. You're a LIFESAVER !!!! : )))))) |
