Bitstream audio not working properly
I have the following setup:
- Receiver AVC Onkyo TX-SR309 - AMD Radeon 6450 -> connected with HDMI to Onkyo - Windows 7 32bit - Shark007 Codec pack Spend a zillion hours to get bitstreaming working properly, problem is: Dolby Digital 5.1 -> works DTS -> works TrueHD -> no DTS-HD -> no So everything higher than DTS is not working, FFDSHOW audio icon says: "Bitstream HDMI audo TrueHD" but screen stays black and no sound, if i disable the TrueHD decoder in FFDSHOW the movie plays correct with the dolby digital 5.1 track included in the MKV. In properties of sound in Win7 I have AMD HDMI selected with 2 channels, on the tab supported formats everything is ok. I have tried every possible combination in shark007 codec pack but it has never worked. A donation is on the way for the person who can fix this

RE: Bitstream audio not working properly

I installed Catalyst 12.4 yesterday with the included AMD HDMI audio driver, the version of the AMD audio driver was februari 2012 I think, it didn't work after that. I tried today the latest Realtek AMD HDMI driver R.2.67.It didn't help ![]() I have found on the internet a solution to override the EDID. I will try this tonight. Do you know this solution ? |

RE: Bitstream audio not working properly
be sure to uninstall the realtek driver.
For Control Panel | Sound, you say "on the tab supported formats everything is ok" To delve further - you see the HD audio formats here? Also, for testing, try this press [Reset All] and then on the Audio TAB, select TrueHD/DTS HD-MA test with no other changes Are you sure your testfile contains HD audio? use the button on the Misc TAB to [Analyze a media file] to know |

Solved after months... ![]() If you have a similar setup as mine, the problem lies not in codec packs but in communications between AMD videocard (AMD HDMI AUDIO) + AVC receiver + TV You have to update youre monitor INFO file for the correct EDID (to override it), download the file here: http://72.9.159.100/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1227161 in the list pick the right one or a similar setup, and follow the instructions for installing (really simple) after that use reset all in Shark007 pack and choose bitstream audio. thats all, and it works !! hope I help someone with this |
