Can install on WHS V1 ?

Hello

I am messing about with the new XBOX 360 Metro dashboard. Apparently you can now play MKV files on there.

I am using WMP11 on a WHS V1 (Windows 2003 Server) box and I wanted to try and stream MKV's from the WMP library to the dashboard on the XBOX.

I have installed a reg hack on the WHS V1 to allow WMP11 to display the MKV files in its library. However on the XBOX dashboard I can now see the MKV movie folders but when I click in to them they all say NO VIDEO FOUND.

I then installed the Haali Splitter on to the WHS V1 box thinking that maybe the WHS box needs to be able to play the MKVs files before the XBOX can.
However I am still unable to play the MKV files on either.

So I need a direct show filter as well I guess, I could just installed FFDSHOW Tryouts on to the WHS but was wondering if the Shark 007 codec pack can be installed on this version of WHS ?

sure it can. but uninstall Haali etc before you do.

The Vista version of the pack? There is no XP / 2003 version?

yes, but wait a few days. Version 6.0.0 is quite old.
Allow me some time to release an updated version.

I have plenty of work to do and this is just a little side project with my own WHS and the new XBOX dashboard UI so can wait.
