no, I have not read or witnessed such an issue in the past.

Also to clarify...
you are using Video drivers from amd.com?
you have not installed some realtek audio driver?
in control panel | sound, you see and amd device?
in control panel | sound, you have not set a speaker config other than 'stereo'?
(stereo is required to send audio over hdmi to be decoded by the avr)
