Hi,
I really hope someone can help. I have DTS and Dolby setup via the SPDIF cable to a Yamaha receiver. When playing an MKV with DTS audio the receiver switches to DTS (or Dolby if it's Dolby) but every few seconds to few minutes I get stuttery/poppy sound. I have gone through all the setup guides I can find but can't for the life of figure out what the hell is wrong. It is also not a network issue (I am streaming from a server to my Media Center system) as I get the same issue when playing a file locally with either Media Play or Media Center. Please help, I really want my digital audio working properly. Thanks in advance |

RE: DTS/Dolby audio with WMC7 stuttery/popping
Make this selection on the audio tab.
The leftside speaker config is automated - let it be. 'Same as Input' is correct for these type of output |

Control Panel | Sound
set the speaker config of the active device to 'stereo' |

I also don't know if maybe this has something to do with the device as it says S/PDIF passthrough when I am looking in the control panel applet Sound rather than just S/PDIF. Do you thing it could be the sound card itself? There is onboard sound with the MB (only coax) and when clicking that sound device I can click the configure option. Do you think it is worth buying a coax cable and using the onboard sound? dAos |

I will attach a screen shot tonight when I am home again. Another thing I found is that Dolby is fine with Live TV, the receiver switches to Dolby Digital and there is no popping or stuttering. This issue is only occurring with mkv's with DTS or Dolby audio. Any other suggestions cause I am sick of playing with settings.

I have tried a BlueRay disk with the same result. I was thinking it may have been the rip but that does not appear to be the case. Thanks dAos |

RE: DTS/Dolby audio with WMC7 stuttery/popping
The audio drivers may have installed its own control panel.
check the startmenu for something 'asus' or 'xonar' |
