DTS-HD bitstreaming failure

Yes. All sources bitstream successfully when HD audio is not enabled in the ffdshow audio settings.

The moment i tick the dts-hd box it breaks when trying to playback the hd audio content.

I dont know where you are getting ffdshow usage from.
Had you been following my instruction, it would not be used at all.

ok, my bad in my last reply, that was the original symptoms.I did follow your instructions.

Now the mkv's with hd audio dont play at all. your file plays ok with normal DTS.

do you disable UAC?
not that you should, am just asking because doing so can cause weird things to happen

nah, i turned UAC on when setting your uitility up originally.

it also needs to be on when making any changes in my app(s)

sorry, yes its been on the whole time. i updated from 371 to 372 just now and no change.

just in case UAC was not enabled during the installation...
uninstall the codecs, ensure UAC is set in the 'Default' position and reboot your computer
re-install the codecs and make the settings I suggested earlier

what is your GPU?

I'm trying to use the onboard, this may actually be my issue. Gigabyte h67ma-usb3-b3 with ALC889.

Checing the properties of the audio device (attached) seems to indicate at this being the problem.

From what I understood, the device can do HD audio...
