DirectVobSub v3.0 vs v2.41
The last few versions on the Win 7 pack have included DireftVobSub version 3.
But, the version that seems to be available separately elsewhere on the web is version 2.41 build 5096. Shark - is there a reason that you use version 3? Version 3 doesn't have the resolution doubler option on the General tab of it's config dialog. I really need this as some videos I have with subs are low resolution, and the subs are really blocky if the video isn't resized beforehand. It seems I have two options - either install the 2.41 version over the top, or switch all video to ffdshow and use it's built in upscaler instead (but then all low res is upscaled and not just those videos with subs). Is there any problem with installing 2.41 over the top of 3.0? Is 3.0 a legitimate release of DirectVobSub? |

RE: DirectVobSub v3.0 vs v2.41
To install it overtop of the version I use, be sure the file, vsfilter.dll is installed to the Windows\System32 directory.

RE: DirectVobSub v3.0 vs v2.41
Weird: the file version in system32 is 1.6.1.4074.
The one I found on videohelp.com has a file version of 1.6.3.5096 and was installed to "Program Files (x86)/DirectVobSub". I did find one with a file version of 3.0.0.8 in SysWOW64. I'm not sure which one is being used - but I do know that my low res videos are now getting upscaled - so all's good either way. |

RE: DirectVobSub v3.0 vs v2.41
On a 64bit system, SysWOW64 would be the correct directory. It contains the 32bit files.
