Everquest 2
Hi Shark,
On a recent Win7 HP64 install I installed your codec pack and nothing else. I play a game called (you guessed it) Everquest 2. Recently they added a function that allows your character to interact via vebcam. Long story short, it simply overlays my character on my webcam. Anyway, every time I try to enable that feature, the program crashes. After 9 days of troubleshooting with them they came to the following conclusion: I'm seeing that your EverQuest II application is faulting (crashing) on the "VSFilter.dll" file. We are unfortunately not trained in the use of this file, however this *is* the driver your client is crashing on, I suggest some research on this crash and possible fixes for programs associated with it; while I would love to help, this error is a little too sophisticated for general troubleshooting. My question is (I don't use subtitles)... Is there any way to prevent VSFilter from loading when I start this program? My research indicates the this file is related to VobSub. I don't want to uninstall your codecs. Shark007 Applications 32 bit v3.6.7 x64 Components v3.6.7 (All drivers are the latest manufacturer versions) 585 Watt PSU MSI 970A-G46 motherboard. RE: Everquest 2
on the Config TAB of Both Settings Applications,
set the Subtitle Control setting to 'No Subtitles' Doing the above will disable VSFilter.dll from being active |

RE: Everquest 2
Shark is a smart guy obviously, but a game company cannot predict what codecs you have installed on your system. I worked for a game company for three years. People always swore that their was nothing on the system but very little software or "the way it came from the store." Most times, it was a virus. :-)
