Help: WMP doesn't fully quit and release .mkv after playback?
Whenever I play a .mkv, I notice that even after I quit WMP (and the window closes), I have to go to the task manager and quit wmpprocess.exe in order for it to release the file (so I can move or rename it). I've also noticed that ffx and Direct vob sub also stay open in the taskbar, and can have multiple instances going, one for each video i had recently watched.
Windows 7 Intel Pentium G620 64bit Help? Thanks |

Agin, a Microsoft quirk of the systray not refreshing propery. Simply hovering over the icons with your mouse will make them disappear. This has nothing to do with codecs. |

This has nothing to do with codecs. That's an awfully laissez-faire approach to my question. You're saying that this is a known issue, that occurs in every instance where you use third-party codecs in WMP to play a video? and that it's been tried but there's no way to fix this problem, either by tweaking WMP or Shark007? And yes most instances will disappear, except for one instance of both apps which stay until I quit the wmplay.exe process. |
