Having a problem with the sound in some of my MKV's & MPEGS. I get a loud buzzing or hissing sound when trying to play the files.

Whether I'm using a line out to my pc speakers or hdmi out on my 6870 graphics card to my receiver I get the same issue.

Tried mult settings. Searched all over this forum and others.

Please help. Running Win 7 64bit.

Control Panel | Sound, active device, (speakers and hdmi)
set the speaker configuration to 'Stereo'

Tried that as well. Everything is set to stereo in the control panel.

Did that still same issue. I reset in both the 32bit and 64bit settings. I have tried all diff kinds of combos as well. disabled windows audio decoder. I don't understand why I can't get this to work. lol

Done and still same issue.

In VLC under audio codec it says bpcm. I have tried every media player and get the same thing from all of them as well.

This statement interpreted says 'this is not a codec issue.' it is an issue with hardware setup/drivers'

my next best guess, you have disabled UAC and this is the root of all your problems. Uninstall the codecs.
Re-enable UAC to the 'Default' position. Reboot your system. Re-install the graphics drivers (which include hd audio drivers) - and then re-install the codecs.

Did all of that now and same issue. It's streams fine through the ps3. Just when I play it on here its a loud buzzing noise.
