Keyboard shortcuts for audio and subtitles
Hi all,
I am using Windows Media Center in Windows 7 x64 to play my collection of movies on my HTPC. As I primarily use a remote for this, I would like to be able to set up remote commands that I can send to Event Ghost and have it trigger a keyboard short cut to change my audio and subtitle tracks for MP4's. I can already do this for DVD's through WMC's keyboard shortcuts but can't figure out how to do this with my MP4's. I know that you can change them from the Haali tray icon, but I would like to simplify things so others can easily play through my movies and not have a hard time figuring out how to turn off the director's commentary and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Videos encoded as mp4 h.264, ac3 passthrough (for surround) & aac stereo 160kbs (ipod playback/director's commentary), 2000kbs for 720p, 1500kbs for 480p. |

RE: Keyboard shortcuts for audio and subtitles
You can use the remote control with the Media Control Plugin (MCP 6.0.15) to change the audio streams in MP4 videos, see for example here!

RE: Keyboard shortcuts for audio and subtitles
Thanks for the info! I was having a lot of other issues with your configurations at first, but I realized I had another program running that was interfering.
I am using the LAV codecs and everything seems to be working well for the most part now. Just two little problems left. When playing DVD's, I have to press Pause then Play before any other controls work. The other problem I seem to be having now is that I can no longer fast-forward/rewind MP4's and MKV's using the player controls. This isn't a big deal though as I can use skip/previous, select a point on the time bar or just use the remote. But anyway, thanks again. Now my HTPC feels a little more complete. |

RE: Keyboard shortcuts for audio and subtitles
Unfortunately SHARK007 3.7.5 not work well with FFDshow decoders (especially in Windows 7 x64), so I can recommend this version only with LAV settings, but with the LAV settings can MCP 6.0.1X not use and so is not FWD and REW in MKV and MP4 possible.
To use the FFDShow decoder better remains the versions 3.6.1, 3.7.2 or 3.7.3. PS: Your problems with DVDs can not understand why? AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |

RE: Keyboard shortcuts for audio and subtitles
I just loaded everything onto my live system and the DVD controls are working fine there. There must be something on my test partition that was messing with it. I test all my new software on there first before I move it to my main partition, so something I tried out before could still be messing with it. I really need to make a new clone of my main drive.
But on the ff/rw controls, it really isn't that big of a deal. It works fine on the remote, which is what I mainly use anyway. I'm happy with it. I really appreciate your help. I just thought of something else I want to ask. I am using an older reciever atm so I have no way of testing it, but do you think this configuration will work ok for bit-streaming DTS-HD MA, DD True-HD, or PCM from MP4's or MKV's? |
