Live (copy-once) TV & WMC
First off, I get the same results using K-Lite Codec packs and Shark007 and many others. If I install ffdshow out-of-box, I get it as well, that is unless I completely disable nearly everything in ffdshow.
After installing Shark007, Live-TV that has been DRM'd and copy protected will NOT play. It gives an error message of me not having a HDCP compatible video card. LiveTV that is not encrypted (so ClearQAM?) will work. But the bulk of my channels, unfortunately, will not. My ripped media - xvid, divx, mkv, mp4.. - will still work fine. But I cannot live without the ability to play live TV. It's one of the main reasons I run WMC. I've enabled pass throughs. I've done everything on the "so you're having trouble with WMC" guide. I've tried manually toggling codecs. No matter what I do, WMC is very, very unhappy while I have codec packs installed. At least it's very, very unhappy with me trying to play copy protected liveTV. Even without your codec pack, I have EVERYTHING I want to play playing fine. The only thing I'm lacking is the ability to play .flv files within WMC. I've tried other solution (playFLV) but those are not working. If someone can point me to a guide on getting Shark007 (or any other codec pack) working WITH copy-once liveTV I'd adore you. Or if someone can just get me playing .flv files within WMC, I'd also love you. I've been battling WMC and codec packs for 4-5 hours now. I'm about to throw in the towel. Which means manually converting about 2gigs of .flv to .avi ;( And I apologize if this is not the correct forum. |

RE: Live (copy-once) TV & WMC
most likely a splitter is the issue.
On the Misc TAB, try disabling ... things |

RE: Live (copy-once) TV & WMC
All I had previously installed was Haali's splitter w/o anything else. The install from Haali's site got .mkv working fine. At the start of my relentless effort to get stupid .flv movie trailers working was to install PlayFLV. Once that failed I decided to take the plunge and try more expansive codec packs.
K-Lite claimed to have uninstalled Haalis and everything else that I'd installed. I've since uninstalled K-Lite and everything (including NOT re-installing Haali) and WMC is still playing .mkvs fine. Watching one right now, actually. So, clearly, there's something still installed. I realize my problem is very unique, and I appreciate the quick response. The reason I came here is because I saw how extremely active you are. With the "things" I need to toggle, any suggestions? Any way to tell your pack to not touch anything to do with whatever codec/decoder touches my Live/Recorded TV files? |
