Low voices volume and a question
Hello! Whenever I play THORA's Xam'd release voices are lower than music and I have to set Windows volume to 100% to be able to listen to them correctly, this only happens with this release though, I was told It has something to do with ffdshow audio decoder, this only happens with that show.
And I have a question too, are Shark007 codecs compatible with xyvsfilter? This was in another thread but since it had another title I decided to make a new one Thanks ^_^ |

RE: Low voices volume and a question
Hi again senjougahara,
The release probably contains multichannel surround sound, and if you're restricted to stereo (2 channels), a downmix is required to get proper audio. This is currently possible with ffdshow audio. In the Settings App, on the Audio tab, you need to disable LAV Audio, and let ffdshow take over. Then go to the Config tab and click 'FFDshow Audio Config'. In the left-hand panel select 'Mixer'. Iirc, it should be enough just to enable the mixer, and select the 2/0/0 preset. I'm also fairly sure you can use xyvsfilter, as long as you select 'No subtitles' on the Config tab. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 |

If it's the latter then I'm afraid they are not compatible I have put VSFilter.dll in C:\Program Files (x86)\xy-vsfilter

On 32bit operating systems, this is Windows\System32 On the 64bit operating systems this is Windows\SysWOW64 lastly, go back to the config tab and set DirectVobSub for low volume left side of the audio tab, very top, uncheck the box [] disable auto.... also on the Audio Tab, use the button, [disable LAV audio] lower down from that button, select the normalization feature |

Thanks a lot! ^_^ does xyvsfilter lower subtitle quality in any way? EDIT: This just caught my attention on the xyvsfilter website Quote:"It is NOT recommended to store VSFilter.dll in your System32 or SystemWOW64 directory. If you have a copy of VSFilter.dll in either of these locations, run regsvr32 /u VSFilter.dll to unregister/uninstall, and then follow the steps above to move and register/install it in a new location." Should I keep VSFilter.dll in that folder or move to another one? |

RE: Low voices volume and a question
I've found the ffdshow mixer not too usefull for that..
I ended up either re-encoding 6 channel audio to 2 channel stereo (always helps) and I have permanently set audio normalization to enabled on my Sound card I was stunned how well its worked, i MEAN SHOCKED Spent ages toying around with ffshow mixer settings and no matter what i did i wouldn't com close to the results of my Realtek HD Audio drivers setting I have a million diff videos all at drasticly differnet levels and they all sound the same now I almost never notice a difference ![]() Its hard to find in the Realtek audio settings control panel applet but its there.. If you don't have a realtek audio chipset on your motherboard then your sol on that idea lol |
