MKV Audio Not Working on Xbox but Works on PC
Hi,
I have a problem with an MKV when trying to play it on my Xbox, either through the Extender or through the built-in video player. I get a screeching noise instead of the audio. I have set up Shark007 the same as the AssassinHTPC blog and I have also tried the default settings. It is only this one video and it works perfectly on the PC. The Xbox is connected directly to my TV via HDMI. My PC is a Win 7 64bit. Details of the video: General Unique ID : 187130148295372903364424383254499513936 (0x8CC7F4A2DAD9773D9397F966E1A15650) Format : Matroska Format version : Version 2 File size : 2.05 GiB Duration : 1h 49mn Overall bit rate : 2 683 Kbps Encoded date : UTC 2011-12-24 08:16:14 Writing application : mkvmerge v5.2.0 ('I can't explain') built on Dec 18 2011 18:12:03 Writing library : libebml v1.2.3 + libmatroska v1.3.0 Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 1h 49mn Bit rate : 1 930 Kbps Width : 1 280 pixels Height : 534 pixels Display aspect ratio : 2.40:1 Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.118 Stream size : 1.43 GiB (70%) Writing library : x264 core 114 r1924 08d04a4 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=3 / deblock=1:0:0 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=umh / subme=7 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.00:0.00 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=1 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=6 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=1 / b_bias=0 / direct=1 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=23 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=40 / rc=2pass / mbtree=1 / bitrate=1930 / ratetol=1.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / cplxblur=20.0 / qblur=0.5 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.00 Default : Yes Forced : No Audio ID : 2 Format : DTS Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems Muxing mode : Header stripping Codec ID : A_DTS Duration : 1h 49mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 755 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Bit depth : 24 bits Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 591 MiB (28%) Language : English Default : Yes Forced : No Does anybody have any idea of what the problem could be? RE: MKV Audio Not Working on Xbox but Works on PC
I'm fairly sure the Xbox doesn't like DTS audio, but I have no personal
experience with playback via the Xbox, so don't take my word for it. Another issue could be that the audio is 'Header stripped'. You could try remuxing the file, with applications like MkvMergeGui or MetaFox, and see if that fixes the problem. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 |
