I left your default settings unchanged - meaning using LAV decoder, and I've only selected Intel QuickSync as hardware decoder. Everything shows fine ...BUT only when the window of mce is not in full screen. If I go in full screen there is no image or sound. If I'm exiting full screen and go to a smaller window of mce I get video and audio perfectly syncronized, with subtitles and I can see that dxva is working (CPU load 7-10%). This is only happening with mkv 1080p, my TV only has max resolution 1366x768. Do you have any idea here?

THIS SOFTWARE (Maxifier) will most likely solve your issue.

RE: MKV playback with LAV in fullscreen (minimized it's ok)?
1366x768 is a PC resolution, if that becomes active while MC7 is in full screen, then the TV may no longer be recognized as HDMI/HTPC device and HDMI audio/video device shut down. Only with a TV resolutions (eg 576i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p ...) that is guaranteed. Accordingly, they should MC7 TV-Device-Setup set to 16:9 flat panel with HDMI and 720p/60 Hz (1280x720/60 Hz) for NTSC or 50 Hz for PAL!

RE: MKV playback with LAV in fullscreen (minimized it's ok)?
Hello Shark and thanks for your quick feedback, but on the linked site it says "The Maxifier is a application that assists in running Vista Media Center on two screens." and I want to have mce in fullscreen only on the TV (I don't have another monitor connected). The issue is that with ffdshow I don't have this problem but I do have a/v out of sync. With LAV everything has been solved but something is blocking when I go in full screen (if I reduce the screen I have a/v again, I can even drag the corners of the MCE to fit the entire screen but it's iritating, I wish I have video and audio directly in MCE fullscreen). Is there a setting in LAV that I need to work to?
[quote='HD-False' pid='27398' dateline='1336750912'] Hello HD-False, You've lost me already...if it's working when ffdshow is enabled why not with LAV? I have no problem also in other mediaplayers and yes my MCE setup is with connection to flatpannel/lcd. |

Please let me know if it works or not for you." I have read elsewhere that this software solves the exact issue you are dealing with. Wouldnt hurt to try . . . |

RE: MKV playback with LAV in fullscreen (minimized it's ok)?
Hello hd-false and thanks for your help,
I only have this problem with lav, with ffdshow and intel quicksync for hw acc I have no problem with full screen mce but other problems: if I pause and resume a/v goes out of sync. During wk i have tried all shark versions from 3.3.1 to 3.6.2 and up to 3.4.7 a/v is perfectly syncronized but embedded subtitles in mkvs are not loaded only external ones. Above 3.4.7 embeded subtitles are loaded but av goes out of sync with pause /resume. If i play continuously the whole movie than it stay syncronized. |

RE: MKV playback with LAV in fullscreen (minimized it's ok)?
I have "only" ATI graphics cards and use FFDshow-DXVA decoder under "H264" Tab (MKV with H.264/AVC or VC1) or the FFDshow Video Decoder (AVI, MPEG, Xvid..) for the subtitle display (see for example here). I have no problems with MKVs in HD and SD.
But I do not know if FFDshow DXVA with Intel HD graphics has problems. You can please upload a 40 MB sample of your problem-mkv with "Settings -> Misc -> DragNdrop", so I can try this with my Shark007 settings? RE: MKV playback with LAV in fullscreen (minimized it's ok)?
Hello hd-false,
Pure dxva does not work well with intel sandy bridge gpu indeed. I have several files that have artefacts. Intel quicksync implementation in ffdshow / lav is a sort of a dxva workaround made unofficialy by intel engineer called Egur and is a hw acceleration method specialy tailored to intel sandy bridge gpu. I think the problem lays in fact in the integration of this in ffdshow / lav. Anyway I will try to update a sample but I can bet that on your amd system there won't be any problem. |

RE: MKV playback with LAV in fullscreen (minimized it's ok)?
I recommend an ATI graphics card HD6570 or better, brings a measurably better video picture and has no problems with BD 23.976 Hz!
