MKV with Dolby TrueHD
I'm having trouble getting TrueHD to play in WMC.
I have an MKV with H264 and TrueHD. I have Core AVC installed to decode the H264. The video works but I can't get the TrueHD working to my receiver. What settings do I need to choose to use Core AVC and also have TrueHD? |

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
No I followed your installation instructions. First installed 32bit, then installed Core AVC without Haali, then installed the 64bit.

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
Using version 240 of the x64 addon . . .
On the H264 TAB, select CoreAVC On the MKV TAB, choose Gabests splitter. On the Audio TAB select FFDshow passthrough. version 240 has some audio fixes, so I recommend that version. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
I reset all the settings and then selected the settings as you mentioned, but my receiver is recognizing the audio as 2 channel and not TrueHD.
I have the latest 240 version installed. BTW the FFDshow tray icon shows up saying that it is decoding the TrueHD using libavcodec, however for some reason my receiver recognizes it as 2 channel. |

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
To the best of my knowledge optical s/pdif = 2 channel.
Quote:This specification also allows for the coupling of personal computer digital sound (if equipped) via optical or coax to Dolby or DTS capable receivers. This only supports stereo sound your receiver then upconverts the output to 5 or 7 channels depending on your configuration. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
My computer is hooked up through HDMI to my receiver, which (I think) should be able to send the HD audio without any upconversion.

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
Agreed. But is it ATI HDMI?
If so, you best research a solution because I think there are alot of upset ATi owners getting into this boat. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software

RE: MKV with Dolby TrueHD
I really do not know what else to tell you.
I am pretty sure my software is doing what it is supposed to do. I own a pair of $15 speakers connected to the onboard audio, so my knowledge on this topic has already gone way beyond my 'personal experience' Alot of what i just releated to you comes from reading the AVS forums. Hopefully, you can find a better answer over there. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
