MOV videos - video length not shown
MOV videos, though now show thumbnails and seeking works in WMP/WMC, video length is not shown in explorer or in WMC. For e.g. WMC says: video length: unknown.
Is there any way to fix that? Using Win7 x64. Thanks. |

RE: MOV videos - video length not shown
Hi Haisook,
I have no .mov file to test, but try to change the splitter for MOV playback in Shark´s application. Start the setting application with admin right and try other splitters in the MOVˇOGG tab. If it does not help, please provide info about the file or a sample of the file. Windows 8 x64 / i5 750 / AMD HD 5850 / Benq XL 2410T / MPC-BE / 32bit Advanced Codecs |

I'd like to mention that once played, the videos will show the length in WMP or WMC, but they don't show it in explorer or in video properties. The MOVs are made for viewing on Macs. Please tell me how can I get you further information about the files. Any programs? Thanks. |

RE: MOV videos - video length not shown
Hmm, downloaded a MOV sample file from Apple - no problem playing it with MPC-BE, and the length of the video is shown in system explorer, and also in properties is correct.
1. To analyze the file, open Shark app without admin rights - then go to Misc tab -> Analyze a media file, choose the file, paste info here. 2. Sample: continue on the Misc tab (without admin rights) -> drag-n-drop to the blank space, upload the sample on e.g. Mediafire, post the download link to it here. RE: MOV videos - video length not shown
In the 40 MB samples, there is often no indication of playing time and the time line does not usually.
Here you can download a MOV Trial and with this I have no problems: My complete settings with FFDshow DXVA or FFDshow Video decoder you can find here. AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |

Thanks a lot, butt the settings are quite complicated, and since everything else works fine for me, I don't want to change all those settings. Can you please assist me on the mov issue? Any specific settings? |

RE: MOV videos - video length not shown
My settings with FFDshow DXVA or FFDshow video decoder under "H264" are optimized for subtitle display and use of Media Control Plugin (MCP 6.0.X).
If you are using in addition to the above setting in "OGG~ MOV" one of the two FFDshow decoders under "H264" and not LAV-decoder, it should give no problems with MOV. AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |
