MP3 stream always decoded by DMO decoder
Hello Shark, I am using W7 64 bit. I completely uninstalled W7 codecs (32 bit) before installing v. 3.7.8, and no other codec packs were ever installed in my computer.
I want to use FFDShow Audio for MP3 decoding; but if I turn off LAV audio, then verify FFDshow Audio settings in Config, then check "Use FFDshow in MP2/3" in Swap, playing in ZoomPlayer any AVI file with MP3 audio, I find that the codec used is the "MP3 DMO Codec". Strangely, the same codec is used also after I press "setup Lav Audio" to disable FFDShow Audio. And also if I disable all the Microsoft-related stuff in Swap, the MP3 DMO codec always gets the audio decoding job. I never altered any filter's merit manually, so I wonder what might be the cause of this DMO codec's stubborness... Can you help me please? Thank you from a long-time fan! |

I do not test with every player ever made. I mainly test with WMP and Media Center - these 2 players are the focus of the entire SWAP TAB and my instruction works properly for both of those players. One additional setting is required to make it work in MPC-HC downloaded from my tools page - on the Audio TAB, presss the button to [disable LAV audio]. |

I agree, you can't test with every player.
With MPC-HC everything works as it should (I made the test). So I shall rather look into my ZoomPlayer configuration. Thank you anyway, Shark! |
