MPC-HC Config changes

I guess it's been a while since I've updated codecs, but I noticed in 3.7.5 that the Config button that was associated with the h264 MPC-HC codec is not available anymore. Was it removed or is there another way to get to it now?

My setup requires DXVA and that's always been the codec I used. Specifically I'd go into the MPC-HC config and make sure the only selections checked had DXVA on them. Playback in WMC worked like a champ after that.

I have been trying to use LAV but it seems that even if I select all the hardware acceleration options, playback is still done on the CPU and it stutters at 100%.

I think my old version of the Shark install was 2.8.9. I hate to go back so I'll see what I can do in the meantime. I did try recommended settings too but that still loads the CPU. I may retry FFDshow DXVA; that does offload to the GPU but in the past I always seemed to have AV sync issues.

I was contemplating removing the MPC decoder.
Not only did your post preserve its presense, I'll put the config button back in with the next release.

Ha! Awesome! Well, to the same effect, your taking it out prompted me to retry the LAV setup to see if I can get it to work as well. I like what NC has been doing, so it's worth another try. I'll post back here with my results.

It is my opinion and experience that the LAV decoder can handle much more than the MPC decoder.

I also find LAV video decoder better than the MPC video decoder. The LAV filters have come a long way since your last Shark007 codecs update (can check HERE if you are interested).
