MPC-HC Shark version and stuttering?

Hi Shark. Been using your codec packs for ages now (using current 3.6.0). However, I want to start using MPC-HC for it's many features, and just discovered your versions. When I try your version of MPC-HC (non madVR), my files stutter and audio always drops. In WMP12, they play smooth as silk with the same codec settings. I have the dreaded Atom/ION combo, and I've tried all different combinations of DXVA codecs as well as the CUVID LAV filter to try to get them to play smoothly in MPC-HC. The files are uncompressed 1080p rips from Bluray into MKV and afaik Atom isn't powerful enough to play those back with software codecs. Would you have any suggestions, Shark?

uninstall and re-install the player to clear rogue registry entries.
