Media Control - Subtitle streams (xvid/divx)
Windows 7, MS media center.
Uninstalled old Win7 codec Installed 2.2.6 first, then Media Control 6.0.3.1 (minimum + recommended settinsg for MCE - which Im not sure is even necessary since you mentioned some where that the Shark codecs support Media Control out of the box). MKV files works with Media Control (subtitles), i can change subtitles via Media Control Menu. But for xvid/divx it doesnt work, a standard chosen subtitle is there, the Media Control menu is there, it just doesnt do anything when I click to change subtitle stream. If i manually go to FFDshow icon in the processbar, I can change the subtitle just fine. I have tried manually changing the 2 registry keys (http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/04/replacing...http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/04/replacing-the-default-dtvdvd-decoder-without-breaking-live-tv-play but I think your setup program does that. I tried changing a lot of different settings, but nothing fixes this (including some resets to default settings) and lots of reboots. Is it a bug in Media Control or settings of the codecs? PS, fast-forward has never worked for me with Media Control, any idea whether this could be a codec setting as well? /SOS |

I hope that you had the forethought to keep your original settings for those keys and have fixed up that mess. My software DOES NOT touch those keys (01-11-2010 06:27 AM)SOS_DK Wrote: Is it a bug in Media Control or settings of the codecs?from my previous reading I am inclined to think the short between the seat and the keyboard is at fault here. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software

I didnt tough those registry entries until having tried lots of other settings and suggestions on your and other forums. Since I found 2 posts from users stating that this registry update had fixed their problems + an article from greenbutton, Im not really sure why that qualifies me for your sarcasm? :-) Obviously I exported those 2 keys before changing them, and since I changed them nothing has stopped working, nor am I better or worse off than before. But I am not sure why my question is so stupid it doesn't dignify an answer, although not being an expert on codecs at all, simple logic states that since its working for me with the MKV“s, and since looking at all your codec settings I can see some differences (but dont understand all of them) between a standard AVI/MP4 settings and the MKV settings, its just might be a configuration thing? Which is why Im asking for help.... |

Quote:Is it a bug in Media Control or settings of the codecs?I do not use Media Control personally. Tested it once almost 1 year ago, liked what it did then and began to recommend its use. I personally use the tray icons to make changes If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
