Mono downmix option
Hey guys, you should enable the mono downmix option
It's quite useful sometimes. I, for example need mono downmix becose I am using a bass amplifier, that is mono, to output my pc audio. So I really need mono downmix. I can use kmplayer or other players instead but I just hate'em all, I want to keep playing on my wmp. Best regards, Heric. |

RE: Mono downmix option
Sorry, that's not what I want to, I want to make all stereo into mono: mono downmix, and not mono to stereo. That option isn't available and I really need it
![]() I can't find a codec or other way to make my sound mono, I use my bass amplifier as my pc output and it's mono sound and I don't want to hear just half the music. Actually I am looking for a solution to downmix ALL the audio to mono but I really can't find it, my sound card doesn't have this option so I need a software solution. A solution to downmix audio only into my Windows Media Player 12 (Windows 8) would be quite acceptable ![]() I am a developer so I know that if you have this entire software ready, to add this option is REALLY VERY easy ^^ Best regards! |

RE: Mono downmix option
If your bass amp is a subwoofer, then he should at least have a stereo input?
And if it is a pure mono power amp, you can convert the signals of the stereo sound card with two resistors (eg 1000 ohms) in mono. How do you give out the rest of the audio spectrum (treble)? AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |

My bass amplifier is the one I use to play my bass guitar, it's a pure mono power amp, there is no stereo input. The rest of the spectrum is amplified pretty fine too, my amp has eq. to ajust bass and treble and mid-low and mid-high freq gains. So, your suggestion to use resistors is quite nice, I've never thought on that, so the layout should be like each resistor linked with each channel (R and L) and than link the other terminals together, so that node I link to channel terminal of mono? Does output of sound cards have a current source characteristic? |

RE: Mono downmix option
The sound card output is a low impedance headphone output (<32 ohms), so that should there be no problems, the two channels merge with two 1000-10000 ohms resistors.
