Need Help with Settings for Playback on TV.
Hi there. I have been using your codecs for a while. I play much of my media from my computer to my LG TV through PlexMedia Server. Before I upgraded the codecs to the latest version, I never had a problem streaming. Now, I am having problems running MKV files. The movie will play for a while, then have a hard time streaming. It starts to lag. I uninstalled the previous version before upgrading to the latest version. Why would I have these problems now? As a test I converted one of the MKV files from the A_DTS audio to MP3 stereo, then it had no problems. So I'm thinking there is a problem with the settings? What has changed now between the new version and the previous version that would cause problems in play back of MKV files now?
I hope someone can help me. This is quite frustrating. Thanks. The only reason why I upgraded to the newer version is because I kept getting this prompt to do it which I couldn't turn off. Everything was working perfectly before and now I'm sorry I upgraded. Would disabling the UAC really have anything to do with it? |

RE: Need Help with Settings for Playback on TV.
Thanks for your response. I did a lot of testing so far. Checked the ethernet cable, uninstalled Sharks codecs. It appears that certain MKV files with DTS audio are having a difficult time streaming to the TV. But, it appears that this is an issue with the PlexMedia Server and not the Shark codecs. There is a transcoder in the PlexMedia software which is what I need to use to stream to my LG TV. It streams without Shark codecs. The lagging seems to be on certain DTS MKV files.
Actually, is it possible for Shark codecs to transcode the DTS audio to stereo before my Plex Media software attempts to decode it? This seems to be the issue. |

to the best of my knowledge, MKV's containing DTS audio cannot be played on the xbox.

RE: Need Help with Settings for Playback on TV.
Yeah, easiest thing is to just convert the DTS autio to Mp3. On another note, I'm downloading a Korean drama, and I'm getting a lot of jitter on the playback even on the computer. I'm wondering if it could be something in my settings, or if it's the file. Here's a copy of the analysis of the file. Does anything stand out as unusual? Perhaps I could upload a minute sample of the file for you to look at and see if it plays ok for you?

RE: Need Help with Settings for Playback on TV.
the problem with this file is the fact that it has H264 (avc) video within an AVI container.
Use Metafox from my tools page. This tool will extract and place the untouched contents of that AVI into an MKV which will perform much better. |
