No MKV Seek WMP 12
I just recently found out about Shark007, and am loving it. Before I used K-lite codec pack with Windows Media Center.
I now use WMP 12 for all my audio and video needs, but I cannot seek forward or back while playing MKV files. I can pause, but when I try to seek it jumps back to the start of the video. WMP 12 doesn't detect the length of ANY of my MKV files. Oddly enough, WMC plays them all fine and can seek. I have both the 32 bit and 64 bit installed, both are set to Suggested Settings at the bottom. And yes, I did fully remove k-lite codec pack before installing Shark007. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I live tomorrow around lunch for a cross country trip and would love to be able to seek my MKV's while on the plane. |

I even re-forced WMP to "restore media library" hoping that would help after changing it, but no luck. Still same result. I also noticed while in explorer, I can view the length of MKV files from their properties, but for some reason WMP is detecting all MKV files to have a length of 0 seconds. (Clearly this is the culprit) *EDIT* Strangely enough, I can get seek to work if I right click an MKV file in explorer and "Open with" WMP. No seek when trying to play from the library directly. Found out from this link, then tried myself. |

I am having the same issue. Is there no way around seeking MKVs when they were opened from WMP's library? Thanks, JT |
