No PCM Multichannel Audio
I have set the shark audio tab to lav due to having dd-thd files along with pass through. As advised I did not originally move the ticks on the left. In doing so I can get all audio types to pass through except pcm multichannel. I also originally had the pc audio settings to 7.1 (amd apu w hdmi out to multichannel onkyo reciever). I noticed that it had changed to 2.0 without my knowladge. After placing it back in 7.1 configuration, mc begain having video playback errors stateing the codecs were missing or installed incorrectly. I noticed also in the shark audio config tabs that the setting from my pc control panel carried over and it now showed it to be in 7.1 vs same as output or 2.0. By changing the pc control pack to 2.0 all the video issues go away but then the 2.0 pcm remains. So i do not know which is actually the issue, the codec pack or the amd audio. I then tried to manually adjust the left tick and it didnt have an effect at all. I emailed amd support over a month ago who simply didnt respond at all. I have no idea what I am missing?
Thanks for your help |

RE: No PCM Multichannel Audio
For proper PCM playback the setting in Control Panel Sound needs to be set to the proper speaker count instead of 2.0
PCM cannot be bitstreamed. The stereo setting is for bitstreaming. |

RE: No PCM Multichannel Audio
I have been in contact with AMD finally referance this issue. They have been using me as a guinea pig to possibly find a solution. I will post as soon as one is/is not discovered. I believe at this point however it is all in their hands and they will have to do driver/control panel updates. To anyone else reading this post it is as Shark posted at this time. The control panel must be in 2.0 stereo for live tv/dts-hd/dd-thd to function properly. If you set it to 5.1 or other, pcm will play, however will only be 5.1 and you will get the "video error" on the other formats due to that. So for now this is the best we have until a solution is found. As I stated AMD is aware and is looking for a solution and if one is found I will post it.
Thanks Shark for your time and patience

RE: No PCM Multichannel Audio
I did not think to ask, but is this an issue with Nvidia too?
