Hi,
Im using Window 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition. My subtitles for other file format is working Perfectly fine but I cannot see any subtitles when playing MP4 or files which uses AVC Codecs. I had tried all the solution u've gave in this forum but nothing seems to be working. However, in my Windows Vista 32-bit the same file worked perfectly fine. I gues its windows 7 WMP is the one which may be the problem. Here are the details of the particular file; Moreover, I guess movies which were bluray ripped r those giving me the problem. Pls clarify thank you! RE: No Subtitle ONLY when playing MP4, AVC Video Files in Windows Media Player 12
Is the subtitles external? I don't see them mentioned in the mediainfo report.
Have you remembered to install the x64 components add-on? Try set the subtitle control to "ffdshow /external" (or internal, if the subs are internal) in the Settings app, under the Config tab. If you still have problems please provide a sample for testing? Use DGSplit from Shark007's Tool Page, cut a 40MB piece of the movie with subs, upload the file(s) to rapidshare, and place the download URL here. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

RE: No Subtitle ONLY when playing MP4, AVC Video Files in Windows Media Player 12
In the 32bit application select the DivX codec on the H264 TAB.
If your goal is Media Center, in the x64 application (v222), - select FFDshow on the righthand side of the H264 TAB - On the Config TAB, select the appropriate FFDshow subtile control - On the SWAP TAB select FFDshow for XVID If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
Default UAC settings are required for my software to function properly |

Download and Install Shark007. 4. I've used the following settings in Shark007: Config: Subtitle Control FFDshow/Embedded (after allowing subtitles in the FFDshow Video config) Misc: Didn't change nothing. Audio: Didn't change nothing. Avi: Didn't change nothing. H264: H264 codec in DirectShow players>Use FFDshow's codec MKV: Didn't change nothing. MOV~OGG: Didn't change nothing. MPG~MP4: MPEG2 Specific Playback (DVD)>Use PDVD9 codec MP4 Playback> Use Halli's splitter SWAP: Use FFDshow for WVC1 instead of Microsoft. SWAP: Disable the DMO codecs EDITTED BY Shark007 Goodluck! Try this:
Config>Subtitle Control>FFDshow/External then in FFDshow Video configuration go to Subtitles and check "support for SSA tags in SRT subs". That worked for me |

RE: No Subtitle ONLY when playing MP4, AVC Video Files in Windows Media Player 12
Hi, Guys.
I see others have the same problem (in Google search) and I haven't yet found the solution for this yet. To iterate the issue again that I am seeing in my end... The problem only happens with WMP12 for MP4 movies (Bluray ripped) with .srt subtitles. (also I am using Widows 7) I have used, GOM player, Media Player Classic, KM player etc.. All other players can play the subtitle properly, but only the WMP12 can't. (Note that WMP12 can play the subtitles if .avi movie is being played) I like to use WMP12 with k-crap codecs (FFDshow) because it shows the best color correction, and the sound is also great. (Media player classic also has pretty good color correction, but somehow the sound is screwed up with MP4 movies). I have tried the all the suggestion above, but nothing seems to work. Is this a bug in WMP12 ? or codec selection ? |
