When I tick shark007 suggested settings in win7codecs and x64 components, the movie file I'm playing with .srt subtitles (same file name) doesn't show the subtitle. When I reset the setttings to defaults, it does show the subtitles. What is wrong with subtitle rendering when suggested settings is enabled?

In the 32bit app, H264 TAB, set a different decoder other than LAV or PDVD

So that means your settings are not using subtitles?

It is dependant on your player .
If you were to use MPC-Homecinema from my tools page, you'd have subtitles with the SUGGESTED settings.
Since you are using a Windows player, the decoder used has a significant impact on the decoding chain.

The suggested settings assist in 2 area's of decoding.
They help with playback of TS derivitives such as m2ts.
They help with decoding of VC1 interlaced matererial.

Now I can't play VIDEO_TS video files. I'm still on Shark007 SUGGESTED settings and checked Use Microsoft Coded (default) under the H263 tab. What is wrong?

Ah. So usually it's better to leave all settings at their default?

I'm on Shark007 suggested settings right now with Microsoft Codec (default) as the choice for rendering subtitles. I tried to play a movie with a .sub subtitle file but it is not working, what is wrong? srt files work with no problems.
