Problem with DTS WAV audio
Hi!
I'm new to the Shark007 codec package and, besides this little problem I'm experiencing, everything works great!! Playing movies using DD surround and DTS surround to my Marantz SR6006 (over HDMI) works awesome! Now here's the problem: I downloaded some DTS music and some 192 Khz 24 bit music that I want to play. I've set my Windows sound settings (Control panel > Sound) to 192 Khz 24 bit, so I'm guessing the 192 Khz 24 bit stereo streams are okay like this, but I can't get the DTS audio to play in WMP (32/64 bit). White noise only. VLC will play it, but if I check the input sound on my receiver it doesn't switch to DTS surround like it does when playing a movie. It stays at Stereo PCM 192 Khz 2/0/.1. When I configure Windows to use a 5.1 setup it says Multi Ch In PCM 192 Khz 3/2/.1. If I play in VLC I can hear the sound from the center and surrounds (receiver is in Auto mode) but I am not sure if there should be DTS surround in the receiver's display? Also in Sharks download post there is an instruction to set Windows to 2.0 speakers for TrueHD audio bitstreaming. I tried to rename a WAV to DTS and WMP tells me it can't play the file. Any suggestions? Thanks! BTW: When I use the analyse file function, it outputs: Format : Wave File size : 24.3 MiB Duration : 2mn 24s Overall bit rate mode : Constant Overall bit rate : 1 411 Kbps Audio ID : 0 Format : DTS Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems Format settings, Endianness : Little Muxing mode : LE / 14 Codec ID : 1 Duration : 2mn 24s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 1 411.2 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz Bit depth : 24 bits Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 24.3 MiB (100%) The nfo file that came with the music: Media Type = DTS Music Disc (.wav) Product Type = DTS Digital Surround Bit Rate = 1234 kbps Channel Layout = 5.1 - L, R, C, LFE, Ls, Rs Bit Width = 24 DialNorm = -31 dBFS (No Attenuation) Sample Rate = 44 kHz -3db Rear Attenuation = false ES Phase Shift = false ES Pre-Mixed = false Using 96/24 Core = false EDIT: I also tried "Disable Microsoft's Audio codec", problem remains... |

RE: Problem with DTS WAV audio
use the button on the Help TAB to Associate filetypes, then change .wav to .dts
