Slow MOV/MJPEG decoding
Hi,
When I play MOV video files from my video camera, in any app (WMP12, WL Photo Gallery, etc) video plays fine at the beggining but as playback advances, decoding takes more and more cpu usage. Past 2 minutes of video playback, it eventually skips frames, takes 100% CPU decoding, and crashes. To make it simple, the further playback goes the higher cpu usager it takes. If I try to seek past 1 minute of video, it hangs (the further I seek the longer it takes). Tried every possible configuration in Settings (camera, Gabest, Hali, LAV) and same result. Any ideas of what is going on and how can I solve this? Technical Infos: - GSpot tells me the video file uses MJPEG Decompressor (C:\Windows\SysWow64\quartz.dll) - Playback when ffdshow is used there is no problem. However, WMP and other programs do not use fddshow for the MOV file and still uses the MJPEG Decompressor whatever setting I choose. How do I tell WMP to use fddshow for MOV files? - Playback in QuickTime is fine. - Video file information: General Format : QuickTime Format/Info : Original Apple specifications File size : 174 MiB Duration : 3mn 25s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 7 098 Kbps Movie name/More : EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY KODAK C140 DIGITAL CAMERA Origin : Digital Camera Video ID : 1 Format : JPEG Codec ID : jpeg Width : 640 pixels Height : 480 pixels Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 29.689 fps Color space : YUV Scan type : Progressive Compression mode : Lossy Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.768 Thank you! |
