Some parameters cannot be restored
Hello,
I've noticed that some parameters like CPU core's number, hardware output type (Config tab) and speaker configuration, Normalize audio (Audio tab) are always back to their default values when the settings is restored, this occurs with the 3 variant of your software. Is that a known issue or is it expected ? Regards Christophe |

RE: Some parameters cannot be restored
It is not expected. I will investigate and fix it before the next release.
Thanks for the information, I appreciate the assistance. EDIT: I have located the problem and have released updated apps in the app dev thread If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
Default UAC settings are required for my software to function properly |

RE: Some parameters cannot be restored
Hello,
Thanks for the quick answers. For your info, I've just installed last builds released today (V2.3.5 x64 and V2.3.1 x86) Options mention above still not restored (or maybe not saved) I also get an error message "Missing entry: ConfigureDXVA" when I try to configure FFDshowDXVA from the config tab Regards |

Reset All returns the settings to installation defaults. FFDShow DXVA has been temporarily removed because it is causing problems with postprocessing at this time. I wasnt about to rewite my applications just to deal with this removal. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software

RE: Some parameters cannot be restored
Hi Shark007,
This is what I did, in fact the procedure was: I uninstalled both appli (I'm running Seven x64) from the help tab (BTW, uninstal only works from there), then re-instal them, reset all settings, manually reapply my own options, save all settings. Finally to check your restore fix, I reseted all settings and restored it: - CPU core's number (Radio buttons from config tab) - Hardware output type (Radio buttons from config tab) - Speaker configuration (Radio buttons from audio tab) - Normalize audio (Checkboxes from audio tab) Those 4 options are back to their default values ! RE: Some parameters cannot be restored
Hello again,
Sorry but I found another issue with the restore! Settings appear to be restored in your appli dialog but not in FFDShow, I've seen this with the speaker config (Mixer in FFDShow audio still set to "Same as input") and normalize audio checkbox (Volume/Normalize still unchecked in FFDShow audio) Christophe |

RE: Some parameters cannot be restored
I think this is a user/administrator problem.
open the application as an admin, then check the ffdshow settings.. are they correct? If so, i'll have to figure out a way to access the users registry from the admin account. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software

RE: Some parameters cannot be restored
I'm already using the "super admin" windows account !
The strange thing is that only occurs with "Speaker config" and "Normalize audio". I checked the backup reg file and found out that they're correctly saved as "volNormalize"=dword:00000001 and "mixerOut"=dword:00000001 If I manually run VCP_backup.reg, they are restored in FFDShow |
