Sound only on Dolby/DTS with Bitstreaming
Hey all,
Firstly I want to say a huge thanks to Shark007 for his codec pack - I've been using them for several years now and it just takes all the hassle out of dealing with this stuff for someone like me. i think a donation is very much in order! I've just picked up a Yamaha HRT-3064 5.1 receiver and am having a few problems getting the bit-streaming to work properly. I have an HDMI cable running from onboard HDMI (z68 chipset) on the Windows 7 x64 HTPC, to the receiver, then from the receiver to the TV. As per the guides on this forum, I set up bit-streaming and now when I play a Dolby/DTS video in media center the receiver correctly recognises it and decodes it (awesome!). However when I then play any non-dolby/DTS file afterwards in media center I get no sound. Also media center's sounds themselves don't play. The receiver reports 'PCM' on the display, but the L, R speaker icons are not lit up as they are when all is working. The other problem I'm having is when playing different content with 'exclusive control' turned on for bit-streaming, the first video plays fine but any subsequent videos hang on a black screen. Some more info: - Codecs are latest as of yesterday - Installed with UAC on - Have made changes in both x86 & x64 versions - Windows speakers set to Stereo - Shark007's Recommended Settings Turned on - Have clicked 'Enable LAV audio' - Audio bit-streaming is on 'TrueHD/DTS HD-MA' - Tried turning everything to FFDShow under SWAP tab, but this made no difference Any suggestions on all this would be awesome. Thanks

RE: Sound only on Dolby/DTS with Bitstreaming
check Control Panel | Sound and verify that the output is set to the Intel HDMI device
press [Reset All] in both apps. go to the Audio TAB of both apps and select the TrueHD/DTS HD-MA setting go to the MKV TAB and select the LAV splitter use the button on the Misc TAB [Analyze a media file] to verify that the test file indeed does contain HD audio. at this point . . . If you do not get HD audio decoded by the AVR the most likely cause is a setting on the AVR itself. You need to select 'Direct...' as the input setting. |
