Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

Ok I tried looking on this site and in googleland but could not find my answer. To top things off, those of you that really understand codecs I tip my hat to you. I feel most of this stuff is a black art Smile

Now for the issue. once my HTPC starts or comes out of sleep mode if I go directly into LiveTV I get video and no audio. Now if I go to a movie I get audio and video. Now if I goto LiveTV, I now get working audio and video. I don't get it. Nor do I know how to state what I have going on except I have shark007 codecs and I used settings I found from a HTPC tutorial on shark007 codecs, why, cuz it is a black art and I dont get them.

So any and all support would be nice as I have a work around but would like it to work out of the gate.

allowing the computer to sleep is causing the issue.
Change the powerplan and dont let it sleep.

will do, but I still get this on power on. any ideas of what I should look at?

for some people, disabling UAC can be the cause of weird issues.
If this is you, uninstall the codecs, set UAC to its 'Default' position, reboot and re-install the codecs.

yes I took the UAC off. What a strange side effect of taking UAC off.

its called experience.
9 times out 0f 10, when people have strange issues they cannot solve with Windows 7,
the cause is the fact that they chose to disable uac.

And please, do not get me wrong here, not everyone has these problems. but those with unresolved problems should really consider setting uac back to its default position to try and resolve their problems. This doesnt only apply to video playback.
