TS Playback
Hey Shark, I've got a bunch of TS files i created from some SD tv recordings. I can't seem to find a way of converting to mkv that doesn't trash the quality without doubling the size. so i thought i'd leave them in TS format but I followed some instructions on here to get DTS bitstreaming, enabling the suggested settings on the way and now i can't seem to play these TS files. I notice windows media foundation is disabled and that enabling this again gives me video but still no sound. i also notice the tooltip that refers to Directshow but i can't find any settings for this.
Thanks for any help |

RE: TS Playback
Use Metafox (download link on my Tools page) to convert to MKV using the untouched original contents of the TS files to create MKV files.

RE: TS Playback
actually, i tried that before and the quality was good but it caused the audio to go out of sync. would any of the metafox settings help with that?

RE: TS Playback
it does but the video becomes rather jerky, i suppose i could use mkvmerge to join the good video with the good audio but is it not possible to get the ts files to play? they're natively supported and i only really have mkv, ALAC and DTS passthrough required.

RE: TS Playback
thanks, i went with dropping them into metafox and then choosing the best of the three options, most came out without needing the alt1 or demux only. probably put it through handbrake to get my preferred audio tracks if i can keep the quality.
