These codecs and gaming?
I am successfully able to get 5.1 sound in Windows Media Player, however I do not get any in games. Setup is as follows: PC>HDMI>TV>HDMI>RECEIVER. I know that my TV supports passing through 5.1 sound, as it does it flawlessly with consoles and as mentioned working in WMP... But I only get stereo sound when gaming when setting my output to 2.0 in sound config panel, so I set it to 5.1. I noticed that my games output 5.1 sound, since every rear sound got totally muted
Even though I still get 5.1 sound in WMP when my speakers are set to output in 5.1.Do anyone know why this is? I use my computer mainly for gaming, and I want to utilize my surround speakers for gaming too, so I'm wondering if there is some setting in Shark007 that fixes this or something similar. |

RE: These codecs and gaming?
proper hardware setup
PC>HDMI>RECEIVER gaming console>HDMI>RECEIVER All items>HDMI>RECEIVER and then a single connection from the RECEIVER>HDMI>TV audio setting on the receiver should be set to 'direct' or 'direct input' |
