I'll try the normalization for the sound level being lower on the MKVs.
Now that it seems my issue may have been related to some control panel vs WMC conflict, should I revert back to the orignal seetings (reset all) or even use the shark007 suggested settings? Intel acceleration? Pass through for items my AVR can decode?
