It's Configured as 5.1 surround. I think i recall reading that the setting's supposed to be "speakers" and set to 2 channel. I didn't make any changes yet, keeping the variables low. |

Strange how WMC said I had a Video Error, when maybe it was due to audio setup? I next tried some movie files and volume seemed low and not right - i think i didn't have all the channels. So then I looked to WMC speaker setup and now that seems to work properly (one of my initial problems listed in the initial post - now seems resolved with this audio change). MKV files seem at a lower volume than MP4s and standard system volume. Now, should I reenable the LAV? or do some other tweaks to enhance/improve? |

Now that it seems my issue may have been related to some control panel vs WMC conflict, should I revert back to the orignal seetings (reset all) or even use the shark007 suggested settings? Intel acceleration? Pass through for items my AVR can decode? It's not much, but hopefully you see the $10 i dropped in your paypal yesterday - thanks so much. |

The normalization setting is a feature of FFDshow. Most Audio TAB settings are for FFDshow - to access LAV settings you need to click the [setup LAV audio] button. For ffdshow passthrough, if selected on the Audio TAB, you would then need to go to the Config TAB and click the [FFDshow Audio config] button, scroll the leftside and highlight Output, and de-select the HD formats. I appreciate the donation especially since it is $10 more than the average user cares to share. Thank you. |
