To get FFDshow active in 64bit MC you must disable the Microsoft Video decoder.
So... your solution is to toggle that setting as your viewing requirements change.

Is it really one click? Is there a hot-key or something. To switch I need to right click on the Shark007x64 file, click run as admin, click the right tab, then toggle the MSVideo decoder. I'm not complaining, but this won't be a good solution as my wife needs this to be painless ... hmmm. Maybe I can't have both MC and live tv working at the same time...

Under "H264" it is also possible to "Use FFDshow's codec" with MCP 6.XX, if there are issues with "Use FFDhow DXVA codec" for example with INTEL IGP.

Thanks for your comment HD-False. Yesterday I printed the post and the translations. I'm honesty a bit lost in all the settings and the circular ramifications of making one change breaking another function. I'm chasing the tail of a perfect system. Does your suggested config allow me to use MCP, MediaBrowser, watch MKV, AVI, Ripped DVDs in VideoTS folders (VOB, IFO stuff) AND live TV? If so, that's my holy grail...
Right now, i have just about everything working ok except AVIs (30 rock episodes) don't play at all or only play video with only squeeking popping noises. Also trying to utilize MCP causes WMC to crash...
