The nVidia WHQL release 285.62 can cause these problems. go HERE and find 290.36 - BETA drivers for your GPU do not get 295.51 or 290.53 - both of these have issues of thier own. |

It's INTEL on board stuff from a Gigabyte MB running an i3 chip. In the SWAP tab, I choose the FFD option every place I could (to try to get compatibility with MCP stream switching, (but leave the section that would break live TV alone) and everything seems to work ok except these AVIs. if I go back to "reset all" and only a few other changes, everything works, but no i don't get much use of the MCP. |

RE: "Video Error", Live TV, MKV help
If the AVI was encoded using Lagarith (LAGS), it is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release.
To know what codec was used for encoding, you can use the [Analyze a media file] button on the Misc TAB. |

RE: "Video Error", Live TV, MKV help
Good afternoon,
Problem: Some Bluray ripped matroska files like Cars and StarWars have full surround sound, but other matroska files and all other formats only have 2.1 They all used to work in 5.1 Other info: In Windows Control Planel, I have my AVR as the default and setup as stereo. In WMC, I have it setup for my 5.1 system. I get surround on live tv and also when WMC start-up tones. Media Control works and the FFDshow and Hali splitter icons show up in the tray but when I ask Media Contol to check sound setup, it shows that "speakers" is selected, not my AVR. I click the AVR option, and it says WMC needs to be restarted, but after it restarts it always goes back to "speaker" instead of my AVR. Is that the cause of the problem, or a symptom, or just unrelated? Background: I had Shark007 going and you helped me with some settings. My system still wasn't operating as it should, so i uninstalled Shark, Media Control, etc and tried to start over. I get a bit confused by all the formats, codecs, splitters, etc... So i thought i'd start simple, so i installed just the ffdshow tryouts (the version that was new at the time, about 1 month ago) and the splitters suggested in some of the "ffdshow for minamalists" and everything seemed to work great. Live tv mkv mp4 Then something changed, but i don't know what. Maybe some windows update or something. I also tried to put on some post processing and deinterlacing processes which seemed to break the playback. I think i put all those back (turned everything off), but sometime after that I only get surround sound on some movies. It's frustrating because everything works but the 5.1, if something was broke or not playing, id have a better idea what to change, but this is confusing to me. My AVR can't handle the HD audio. I have passthru for DTS and AAC (i think that's what it's called). Even though I don't have Shark007 installed right now, I was hoping you could assist in helping me setup ffdshow and the splitters and the windows sound control to get my surround going. i'll deposit a few more $$ again. Thanks a lot. |

RE: "Video Error", Live TV, MKV help
Thanks. I'll try again.
If media control is not Recommend, is there a recommendation for switching between audio tracks and subtitles? (03-24-2012 03:36 PM)Shark007 Wrote: Media Control has been abondoned by its author and i no longer recommend its use. |
