you can try MCERemotePlus, there is a download link on my tools page

I came across this post in search of an answer to my query as to whether MCERemotePlus will work with Vista x64 MCE and no "hard" remote just mouse and keyboard. I've been using MCP but I see it's no longer recommended and I couldn't get MKV sub streams to show up in that tool. I could minimize WMC and toggle but was just getting used to MCP. Also some AVI files with embedded subs would crash WMC when minimized.
