Video codec problem
Trying to rule out Shark settings or correct them. Using Windows 7 x64, WMC. My movie collection is a mix of compressed to mkv and then some ripped as Original format. All files play well on a computer monitor but when I switch over to HDMI through my AVR to a projector, I receive a video codec error message only on the movies ripped in Original format. Any thoughts?
Thanks |

RE: Video codec problem
If the M2TS file is located within a BD structured folder format, the Windows players will not play the file.
The M2TS file must be removed from the BD structered folders to be able to play them in the Windows players. |

My apologies for not mentioning that, assuming that you are refering to Blu-ray(BD) However I will look into the M2TS file |

RE: Video codec problem
M2TS files are from BD's.
The Windows players will not see DVD's ripped to folders on your harddrive as DVD's. |

A DVD structure I can play natively in MC7 at Movies: A DVD-structure does not work in Explorer and a BD-structure is not in MC7? AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |

I uninstalled/reinstalled the codecs. At first the file would not play but after playing a MKV file and then going back to the "original format" file, it works is working. I have not shut down WMC and tried playing the file again, but for now it seems to be working. Go figure. Thank you for all your input. |
