Vista Codec 6.1.2 settings conflict
Hi Shark
Many thanks for the new release and the updated codecs Unfortunately I cannot get the settings application to run on WHS v1. There seems to be a conflict in setting FDDshow audio, Lav for all formats except VC1, and FDDShow for VC1. The application still functions but none of the 'buttons' work including 'exit'. I have tried reinstalling it a number of trimes. I have two WHS machines and the same thing happens on both. I looked in the system error log and saw the message .. Source SidebySide, eventid: 59 Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\VistaCodecPack\filters\DivXDecH264.ax. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system. Looks like I can only install it if I have a physical termninal attached to enable the DivX and CUDA functionality which may be switched on by defualt. LAV for VC1 on WHS still has trouble playing some videos in conjunction with PS3Mediaserver and PS3. Note I run headless with no cuda support. I have reinstalled Codecs 6.0.0 and it plays OK. I use LAV for all formats and audio on my W7 HTPC with pass through enabled. It's magnificent. LAV audio support does not work when I switch off audio passthrough. |
