The problem with Subs was Lav Video.
v652 has many changes and all should work including Subs on default settings.
Open the Settings App once as an admin to finalize the installation.

I do not know if the expense for these very few XP (MCE 2005) and Vista users really worth it yet?
VCP 6.5.2 is with MPC-HC for BD-structures only partially suitable, better would be the LAV
Video Decoder with DVS, but also the FFDShow DXVA decoder works very well.
But then there are problems with MP4 and DVS, so I can not recommend these settings!?

I cannot fix the problem of LAV video decoder not working with subtitles. Maybe a future version will work. I do not use XP or Vista. If you would like to suggest default installation settings - I will make a new release with your recommendations.

I use WMP and WMC in XP and Vista only to test the codec packs for other users.
If you could integrate VSFilter 1.1.0.1, then I could recommend for Vista settings with FFDShow DXVA decoder.
In XP (VCP 6.5.1), these settings unfortunately crash still when the LAV video decoder is switched under "H264":

Edit:
Or VSFilter 3.0.0.211 has been installed from my tests yet, because XP is still version 1.1.0.1 is available?
Edit1:
With VCP 6.5.2 in XP I can't enable the LAV decoder because immediately comes above error, but line 13771. Sad

I have the settings in post #1 now adapted the VCP version 6.5.2 and found a new
combination of LAV and FFDshow DXVA video decoders that run in XP and Vista
just fine, if in XP "H264 =>Use LAV codec" will be not enabled (crash, see post above).
