Even though i now have upgraded to Windows 7, i still have the Vista codec package on my system. However, when i tried to uninstall it in order to install the W7 version, it won't let me.. it tells me i need to download the W7 version.. so i did & installed it thinking it would overwrite/update the Vista package but it didn't.. was still in my add/remove program list. So i uninstalled the W7 package thinking it would uninstall everything (and I then re-booted) .. it uninstalled the W7 package but the Vista package is still there.... :-(
How do you uninstall/ update it???? HELP!!! |

RE: Vista Codec package in W7
Open the settings application, go to the Help TAB, choose to 'Modify the codec installation' and on one of the following screens, choose Remove.
If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
Default UAC settings are required for my software to function properly |

Hi, think i've done it... Another problem i've had is that there is no entry for Shark and/or Vista Codec package in my start menu.. so i searched my program files folder, i found a folder called 'Vista Codec pack', exploring this I found the 'settings32.exe' file, i ran this as an administrator, this finally bought up the settings application window, then followed your instructions.. looks like it's done it.. thanks :-) |
