RE: WMC on Win7 Video Error on MKV Files
there are very few things capable of breaking 64bit playback.
I just released version 367 @ MajorGeeks - I think you should try that version. After a clean installation (no upgrades), run both apps as an Admin and in one of the apps, use the button to associate filetypes to the Windows players on the Help TAB. Test again without any other changes. I'll be away from my computer for 10min or so. I will respond upon return. EDIT, and back: if it is still failing, try setting Microsoft on the 64bit H264 TAB |

However the mkv IS now showing up inside WMC, but when I click play i get Video Error. FYI everytime I open 3.6.7 it tells me a newer version 3.6.6 is available. |

RE: WMC on Win7 Video Error on MKV Files
I am really at a loss to troubleshoot this any further.
The file plays in 32bit WMP, so this fact rules out a bad file. You state the Windows installation is clean. We have tried different 64bit audio/video decoders. Haali is a tried and tested splitter that just works. I do not know what else to suggest. Is the Windows install from a modified source? such as nlite? |
