same happens to me even though I have done a clean install

For ATI, it often happens that the wrong version of Catalyst is displayed!
This is not critical, when the correct driver (8.961) and the matching version of CCC have been installed (see screenshots above).

For me it is mostly important, the screenshots to a given row to be placed in the text, so I always choose "inserting it into the post."
But thanks for the explanation of the difference.
